Originally, I did this in charcoal - that was when I realized charcoal, and I don't really 'get along' - it's far too messy for me. 

One day, I was inspired by the sheer strength and beauty of a stallion I saw running freely in a field. I wanted to capture that moment of pure, unbridled energy and translate it onto paper. The intricate details of the charcoal rendering bring the horse to life, from his intensely muscular frame to the subtle textures of his coat.

Experimenting with charcoal allowed me to create a depth and richness that adds a dramatic contrast between the black of the horse and the white of the paper. The title “Freedom” speaks to the spirit and energy of the horse, as he seems to burst forth from the paper, ready to gallop into the horizon.
